The Founders
In Portofino Jannieke & Pieter van Geet, together with luxury watch expert Loek Oprinsen had a reuinion. An extraordinary idea became the spark that ignited Ligure Watches: create a a Timepiece that would accompany those who cherish life’s simple pleasures and all its quiet luxuries. A timepiece not defined by an imposing price tag, without cutting corners in quality, but definied by moments and style measured by you.
The Founders’ Story
Loek Oprinsen brings over 30 years of experience in the luxury watch industry. He combines deep horological knowledge with a passion for timeless designs. Loek ensures that every Ligure reflects uncompromising quality, authenticity, and craftsmanship. Pieter van Geet co-founded, an entrepreneur and marketer whose career spans iconic brands. With a keen eye for strategy and an innate understanding of lifestyle and design. Jannieke van Geet is a designer and artist who brings creativity and soul to every LIGURE timepiece. Without prior experience in watchmaking, she embraced the challenge, crafting the Tartaruga model that combines fresh perspective, meticulous detail, and understated Italian sophistication. Together, their friendship, shared vision, and complementary expertise gave birth to LIGURE Watches
DESIGN STUDIO
CASTELL'ARQUATO
Castell’Arquato, set between Milan and the Ligurian coast, is the inspiring home of the Ligure Watches Design Studio. The backdrop of the movie Ladyhawke, starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Matthew Broderick, and Dutch icon Rutger Hauer. It is also the birthplace of Luigi Illica, the librettist behind Puccini’s La Bohème and Tosca. History and artistry quietly linger in its air, earning it the title Città d’Arte; a creative medieval playground for free thinkers.
